Job summary

Dumpton School is seeking an inspirational sports coach to deliver rugby and related activities across a range of abilities and ages. You will lead rugby sessions, plan engaging activities, and support staff development where appropriate.

The role involves coaching, fixture days, and promoting pupil wellbeing within the school framework. Responsibilities include organising sessions, safeguarding, and aligning with the school values of kindness and high aspiration.

Qualifications

• Must hold relevant Rugby coaching qualifications.
• First aid qualifications are required.
• Experience teaching and coaching children in sport.
• Knowledge of safe rugby practice and player welfare.
• Experience coaching across a range of ages and abilities.
• Ability to act on own initiative and communicate effectively.
• Refereeing qualification or willingness to work towards one.

Responsibilities

• Lead rugby trainings, planning engaging sessions for pupils of all abilities.
• Coach fixtures and refereeing when possible; write match reports.
• Develop session plans across levels and ages within the school curriculum.
• Manage rugby equipment and attend staff meetings.
• Promote Be Kind and Aim High values and pupil wellbeing.
• Ensure safeguarding policies are followed and report concerns.
