Job summary

Groveside School in Reading is seeking a permanent, full-time PE Teacher (37.5 hours per week, term-time only) to inspire participation and support pupil development. The role starts December 2026 and is open to UK applicants.

Salary is £45,000 per year depending on experience, plus a £1,000 welcome bonus. You will plan and deliver high-quality PE, run clubs and enrichment, adapt activities for SEND/SEMH, and collaborate with staff and families.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Passion for PE and ability to inspire participation and wellbeing.
• Strong relationship-building and teamwork with pupils.
• Resilience and calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication and motivation of students.
• Creative teaching approaches to bring out best in learners.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality PE lessons and development activities.
• Develop extra-curricular clubs, wellbeing sessions, and enrichment.
• Use assessment to monitor pupil progress and report findings.
• Adapt PE to include pupils with SEND and SEMH.
• Create safe, stimulating learning environments and manage equipment.
• Promote physical activity for confidence, teamwork and development.
• Collaborate with colleagues, LSAs, care staff and families.
• Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement.
