Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Nursery Assistant to join a network of nurseries in Wigan. This temporary position supports children from 6 months to 4 years, helping them feel safe, valued and eager to learn through play. You will lead small groups, foster positive behaviour and create engaging activities aligned with early years learning.

The role offers market-rate pay, access to CPD and a referral scheme. DBS checks and safeguarding are part of the process, with full onboarding guidance provided

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for supporting young children
• Caring, patient and positive approach
• Confidence in managing groups of children
• Understanding of learning through play and engagement
• Willingness to learn EYFS and safeguarding

Responsibilities

• Support children aged 6 months to 4 years through play and learning activities
• Manage small groups and promote positive behaviour
• Create engaging, play-based activities to develop communication, social and motor skills
