Job summary

A community-focused secondary school in Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Music to join its Expressive Arts faculty on a full-time, permanent basis starting in January. The role covers KS3, GCSE Music, and A-Level Music/Music Technology, with responsibilities spanning classroom teaching, ensemble direction, and termly concerts.

Qualifications

QTS or PGCE/SCITT is required.
Honours degree in Music or closely related discipline.
Proven track record or strong potential to deliver GCSE/A-Level outcomes.
Strong practical musical skills including keyboard/piano accompaniment and vocal coaching.
Enhanced DBS check on Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

Teach Music across Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.
Direct or assist with instrumental and choral ensembles and seasonal performances.
Lead or support GCSE and A-Level listening, composition software, and exam preparation.
Organise termly concerts, inter-house events, and showcases.
Collaborate with visiting peripatetic music teachers to monitor pupil progress.
Fulfill pastoral duties as Form Tutor as required.
