Job summary

Harris Academy Purley is seeking a dedicated Teacher of Mathematics to cover maternity leave. You will join a supportive team, delivering engaging lessons to KS3 and KS4, and contributing to school improvement.

The successful candidate will hold QTS (or equivalent) and have experience in secondary education, preferably within an urban, multi-ethnic context. Strong ICT skills and commitment to high expectations are essential.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent and a relevant undergraduate degree.
• Secondary teaching experience, ideally in multi-ethnic urban schools and of working in an 11-18 school.
• Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4, and of planning, developing resources and assessing work.
• Ability to work as part of a team and maintain positive relationships with staff.
• Good ICT skills and innovative use of interactive whiteboards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Mathematics lessons to KS3/KS4 students.
• Plan lessons, develop resources and assess student work.
• Contribute to a positive, safe and motivating learning environment.
• Communicate with parents, carers and external agencies as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues and take responsibility for own workload and time management.
