Job summary

Howell's School, Llandaff, in Cardiff, seeks a well-qualified Maths Teacher for maternity cover. The role is 0.5–0.6 FTE on a fixed-term contract with responsibilities including leading Mechanics topics and supporting Maths Club and KS3–5 sessions.

The successful applicant will demonstrate strong preparation, organisation and marking, and a lively, engaging teaching style within the GDST framework.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching ages 11–18 up to A level with high standards.
• Proven track record of academic success in maths.
• Excellent behaviour management and pastoral care involvement.
• Proactive and inclusive approach to teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach Maths up to A Level with a focus on Mechanics.
• Prepare, plan and assess to high standards with effective marking.
• Support Maths Club, KS3–KS5 sessions and lunchtime drop-ins.
• Inspire students and contribute to a positive school culture.
