Job summary

Dorchester Learning Centre in Dorset is seeking an inspirational Maths and Science teacher to join our school from January 2027. This role focuses on delivering personalised learning to pupils in small classes of 8–10 with a dedicated team and Learning Mentor support.

The successful candidate will have experience teaching Maths to GCSE level, and a proven ability to support pupils with ASD and SEMH while building positive relationships and maintaining wellbeing in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Maths to GCSE standard.
• Experience working with pupils with ASD and SEMH.
• Ability to develop strong professional relationships with pupils with complex needs.
• Creativity, compassion and willingness to undertake professional development.
• Planning and preparing learning activities to support the national curriculum and social communication.
• Ability to stay calm in challenging situations and support children with anxiety.
• Develop guidance to manage behaviour positively.
• Experience communicating with families about pupils' needs and reviewing strategies.
