Job summary

St Michael's CofE (VA) Junior School is seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team. The role focuses on supporting SEND pupils, enhancing classroom learning, and promoting a positive, inclusive environment.

Hours are 32.5 per week during 38 weeks a year (term-time plus one INSET day). The appointee will assist teachers, monitor pupil progress, and contribute to safeguarding and welfare duties.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Learning Support Assistant in a school setting.
• Ability to support SEND pupils and promote inclusive learning.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils to stay engaged in learning activities.
• Promote inclusion and acceptance of all students in class.
• Model positive conduct and create a safe learning environment.
• Provide feedback to the teacher on pupil progress and maintain records.
• Support teachers in the classroom and establish positive pupil relationships.
