Job summary

The Supply Register, on behalf of EPNE, is recruiting a Land-Based Engineering Lecturer to support Northumberland College at the Kirkley Hall Campus. This temporary role runs 37 hours weekly (24 teaching hours, 13 planning and marking) delivering engaging lessons across land-based engineering programmes for FE students.

You will teach agricultural machinery servicing and related topics, plan, prepare, and assess learning, and support learners toward achieving qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching Land-Based Engineering in FE or significant industry experience.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Qualification in Land-Based Engineering or Agricultural Engineering.
  • DBS check or willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS.
  • Willingness to work towards Level 5 teaching qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering Land-Based Engineering lessons to FE students.
  • Teaching agricultural machinery servicing and maintenance, engines, transmissions and drivelines, hydraulics, vehicle electrics, fabrication, workshop practices, diagnostics, and machinery operation.
  • Planning, preparing, and assessing learning in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Supporting learners with target setting, progress reviews, and achievement of qualifications.
  • Monitoring learner progress and maintaining accurate student records.
  • Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity, and professional standards within the classroom.
