The Perse Upper School in Cambridge is seeking an inspirational, experienced jazz piano teacher to join our vibrant Music Department, teaching pupils across the 11-18 age range from November 2026. Music is a dynamic, ever-growing department with a rich and varied programme of high-quality events throughout the school year.

The successful applicant, as a self-employed Visiting Music Teacher, will be offered the opportunity to teach our current cohort of approximately 8 pupils for half-hour

Qualifications

• Experience teaching jazz piano to secondary-level pupils (11–18).
• Ability to lead jazz ensembles and accompany performances.
• Eligible to work in the UK and able to sign self-employed staff agreements.

Responsibilities

• Provide half-hour jazz piano lessons to approximately 8 pupils weekly.
• Lead jazz ensembles and support performances.
• Invoices issued directly to parents under self-employed arrangement.
