Candl Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a History Teacher for a permanent post in Lewisham, South East London. The successful candidate will join a supportive humanities department and contribute to high expectations, professional development and student progression.

The role suits an experienced History Teacher or a strong ECT, with a focus on bringing History to life and developing analytical, written and critical-thinking skills in pupils.

Qualifications

• Must have Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
• Strong subject knowledge in History.
• Experience teaching History at secondary level.
• Good classroom management.
• Ability to plan engaging and challenging lessons.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil progress.

Responsabilités

• Teach History across KS3 and KS4.
• Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons.
• Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Support students to develop strong historical knowledge and analytical skills.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and achievement.
• Take part in wider school life and enrichment where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the humanities department.
