Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking an inspiring History teacher for a scholarly secondary school in Preston, Lancashire. The role is full-time and permanent, starting in January, within the Humanities faculty.

You will teach History to KS3/KS4 (GCSE) with potential KS5 A-Level delivery and support pastoral duties as a Form Tutor. The position requires QTS or UK teaching credentials, a History degree, and a track record or clear training potential for GCSE/A-Level outcomes.

Qualifications

• QTS or recognised UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)
• Proven track record or potential to deliver GCSE/A-Level outcomes
• Active DBS Update Service or willingness to apply

Responsibilities

• Teach engaging History across KS3/KS4 and potentially KS5
• Guide GCSE and A-Level pupils through source evaluation and essays
• Use archives, digital media, and site visits to enhance understanding
• Assess and report on student progress in essays and exams
• Support extra-curricular humanities activities and trips
• Fulfill pastoral duties as Form Tutor
