Job summary

Philosophy Education, Ltd. is seeking a Part-Time History Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Maidstone, Kent. The role involves teaching History across KS3/KS4 with potential KS5, plus Religious Studies within the timetable.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS and have a History degree, with experience in secondary schools. ECTs welcome, in a collaborative Humanities team.

Qualifications

Holds QTS or UK-recognised teaching qualification.
Degree in History or related subject.
Experience teaching History in a secondary school.
Willing to teach Religious Studies alongside History.
Strong History knowledge and assessment methods.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver History lessons for KS3/KS4, with KS5 where appropriate.
Teach Religious Studies as part of timetable.
Create engaging lessons to develop historical knowledge, critical thinking, analysis and evaluation.
Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities.
Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
Collaborate with History and wider Humanities teams.
Communicate with parents and carers regarding pupil progress.
Contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
