Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a Food Technology Teacher for a welcoming secondary school in Wirral, England. The role covers KS3–KS4, delivering practical cooking sessions and theoretical nutrition with a strong emphasis on health, safety and GCSE readiness.

You will join a supportive Design & Technology department with well-equipped kitchens, technician support, and collaborative planning time. Both ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in Food Technology, Hospitality, Nutrition, or related discipline with QTS or PGCE.
• Proven ability to manage practical cooking sessions with high health and safety standards.
• Commitment to supporting GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging practical and theoretical Food Preparation and Nutrition lessons across KS3–KS4.
• Prepare students for GCSE exams and develop practical skills.
• Maintain kitchen equipment, coordinate with technicians, and contribute to cookery clubs.
