Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is partnering with a school in Exeter to appoint a Female PE Teacher for a January 2027 start. You will plan and deliver engaging PE lessons across Key Stages, promote participation, sport and wellbeing, and support extracurricular clubs.

The role is full-time and permanent, based in Exeter, Devon, with a strong emphasis on inclusion, safety and student development. QTS and a PE degree are expected.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Degree in Physical Education or related subject.
• Experience teaching PE in a secondary school.
• Ability to deliver engaging practical PE lessons.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging PE lessons across the relevant Key Stages.
• Developing students’ sporting skills, physical fitness and wellbeing.
• Creating inclusive lessons that encourage participation and progress.
• Promoting teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship.
• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
• Maintaining a safe, well-organised learning environment.
• Contributing to curriculum planning and school initiatives.
• Supporting extracurricular clubs and fixtures.
