Job summary

Harris Professional Skills Sixth Form in Croydon is seeking a dedicated and inspiring Teacher of Business Studies to join our vocational pathway team. You will deliver a broad curriculum, support progression to higher education or employment, and work within a small-class, supportive environment.

We require a qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree, plus strong ICT and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
• Successful teaching experience at secondary level, ideally including practice in multi-ethnic urban schools and an 11-18 setting.
• Understanding of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4 and ability to write lesson plans, develop resources and assess work.

Responsibilities

• Implement and deliver a broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and support a designated curriculum area.
• Monitor and support the progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor.
• Foster a learning environment enabling students to achieve their potential and raise standards.
• Share responsibility for providing opportunities for personal and academic growth and liaise with parents and stakeholders.
• Engage in operational planning, CPD, quality assurance, information management and pastoral duties.
