Job summary

Hugh Baird College in Liverpool is seeking a part-time Lecturer in Arts & Design to deliver high-quality teaching and assessment across Levels 1–3. The role is temporary until end of June 2027, 16 hours per week, with salary £33,990–£42,764 FTE (pro rata).

Qualifications

• Relevant Level 3 qualification in Arts & Design or related discipline.
• PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
• GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
• Assessor and/or Verifier Awards or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Arts & Design programmes.
• Assess and mark student work, providing timely, constructive feedback.
• Monitor learner progress and use assessment data to inform teaching.
• Create an engaging, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Supervise practical workshops, projects and industry-related learning activities.
• Develop curriculum intent documentation and schemes of learning.
• Develop relationships with employers and external stakeholders to enrich the learner experience.

Education

Relevant Level 3 qualification in Arts & Design or related discipline

PGCE, Certificate in Education, or equivalent teaching qualification
