Job summary

An aerospace service provider in London is seeking an Inspector to conduct inspections, create repair routes in SAP, and mentor other team members. The ideal candidate should have an engineering background and experience in mechanical component inspection. Knowledge of inspection techniques and previous exposure to aerospace environments will be beneficial. This role requires eligibility to work in the UK and may involve shift work from Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday.

Qualifications

  • Aerospace apprenticeship would be desirable.
  • Qualification in an engineering subject would be desirable.
  • Experience within an Aerospace Engineering or equivalent environment.
  • Previous mechanical component inspection background.
  • Previous experience working within an SAP computer system would be advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of inspection techniques and equipment.
  • Previous practical experience using imperial measurement tools.
  • Previous knowledge of manuals and Boeing websites.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake detailed inspection of all components.
  • Create and modify component overhaul / Repair routes within SAP.
  • Record all information in the shop Repair Order and LTLGS SAP system.
  • Carry out accurate measurement of components.
  • Work to production priority lists provided by Production Control.
  • Interface with Technical engineering and other production departments.
  • Train and mentor other team personnel.

Job Description:

The key responsibilities and duties of the Inspector include, but are not limited to:

  • Undertake and complete a detailed inspection of all components (with exception of components which require a quarantine process due to incident / accident.)
  • Creation and modification of component overhaul / Repair routes within SAP as required
  • Ensuring that all information (I.E. P/N, S/N and Condition) is recorded in the shop Repair Order and on LTLGS SAP system
  • Carry out accurate measurement of components where required due to workload
  • Work to Production priority lists – ASPEN, Milestone dates as provided by Production Control
  • Interface with Technical engineering, and other production departments where necessary
  • Other duties as directed by the Section Manager, Team Leader or Leading Hand
  • Train and mentor other team personnel within the role subject to your qualifications and experience

The ideal Inspector should meet the following requirements:

  • Aerospace apprenticeship would be desirable
  • Qualification in an engineering subject would be desirable
  • Experience within an Aerospace Engineering or equivalent environment
  • Previous mechanical component inspection background
  • Previous experience working within an SAP computer system would advantageous
  • Good knowledge of inspection techniques and equipment
  • Previous practical experience using imperial measurement tools such as Micrometres, callipers and precision measuring tools
  • Previous knowledge of manuals and Boeing websites
  • Shift work. Monday – Friday or Tuesday - Saturday
