We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Manager (Maintenance and Inspections) to join our team!

As the Team Manager, you will have full responsibility for the delivery of the Inspection programme for the Distribution Network assets, including High Risk Site Management and Structural Integrity Reports (SIRs) in your regional area.

You will be responsible for the safety and welfare of a team of Inspectors, the productivity of this team, and the quality of the information gathered.

Roles & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring the team has the correct equipment and knows how to operate safely as lone workers when covering a large and diverse geographic area.
  • Using IT systems to issue work, monitor data quality, and authorise timesheets.
  • Leading, developing, and expanding your and your team’s knowledge of risks associated with SSEN’s electrical assets and escalating urgent issues.
  • Conducting Quality Audits for all inspection-related activities and recording findings.
  • Maintaining and improving customer relations with landowners, stakeholders, and the public, including resolving complaints.
What do I need?

To be considered, you should have:

  • Management experience with a proven record of successful operations within a similar environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of inspection processes and Electricity, Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations (ESQCR).
  • Ideally, an HNC in Electrical Engineering with industry experience, or an engineering degree working towards Chartered Engineer status or similar professional experience.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, communication, interpersonal, and engagement skills, with the ability to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Effective prioritisation and planning skills, balancing immediate and long-term priorities.

Travel is required; candidates must hold a current driving licence.
