Job Title: Insolvency & Debt RecoverySolicitor
Location:Liverpool, UK
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role

We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Insolvency & Debt Recovery Solicitor to join this award winning national firm. This is an exciting opportunity for a solicitorwith solid experience in insolvency law, dispute resolution, and enforcement strategy to play a key role in challenging and high-profile cases.

You will handle a broad spectrum of work, from contested insolvency matters to enforcing complex international arbitration awards. You’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to business development initiatives and elevate the profile of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on and handling contested winding-up and bankruptcy petitions
  • Managing money claims and matters involving the return of goods
  • Issuing claims and obtaining judgments across a range of jurisdictions
  • Enforcing judgments, including overseas awards and arbitration-related claims
  • Investigating and pursuing pre-insolvency transactions, with a forensic approach
  • Conducting both contentious and non-contentious insolvency work, spanning personal and corporate matters
  • Preparing a variety of insolvency-related documents, including:
    • Drafting appointments for Fixed Charge Receivers and Administrators by QFCHs and Directors
    • Notices of intention to appoint and other statutory filings
    • Validity reviews and technical reports for appointments of insolvency officeholders
  • Supporting profile-raising and business development efforts to attract new opportunities

Candidate Requirements

  • A broad experience of commercial litigation
  • A working knowledge of insolvency legislation and rules
  • Experience with debt recovery matters
  • Familiarity with different methods of judgment enforcement
  • A good working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
  • Knowledge and practical understanding of Money Claim Online (MCOL)
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines and performance targets
