The Team & Role

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join us for a Maternity Cover until September 2027. As an Insights Specialist, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards to provide insightful information to our care providers. You will collaborate closely with our data and product teams to build embedded dashboards, ensuring they meet the needs of various business operations and analytical initiatives. Above all, you will be a storyteller with data - turning complex care data into a clear narrative that helps our customers make better decisions, not just building dashboards. We are an AI-forward team: you will use AI tools as a core part of how you work and help us find new ways to embed AI into how we deliver insight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement customer facing analytical solutions primarily using Power BI to visualize data effectively and provide actionable insights.
  • Work independently to manage your own workload and priorities, taking ownership of tasks from initial analysis through to final delivery, particularly given the remote first nature of the role.
  • Translate analysis into a compelling, decision ready narrative, using data driven storytelling and strong dashboard design to make insight easy to understand and act on.
  • Use AI tools in your day to day work to accelerate analysis, report development, and the improvement of existing processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (internal & external) to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Monitor, Optimise and streamline Power BI reports and dashboards to enhance performance and usability.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to analytical solutions, ensuring clarity and accessibility for stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies throughout the reporting and dashboard development process.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in Power BI and related technologies to continuously improve our reporting and dashboard capabilities.
  • Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, transform, and prepare data from our data warehouse for reporting.
  • Carry out data analysis on large, complex datasets to validate data quality and shape the direction of new reports and dashboards.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a business intelligence developer or similar role, with a strong focus on building and embedding reports and dashboards that are consumed externally.
  • Proven ability to work independently and self manage in a remote first environment, balancing autonomous delivery with proactive collaboration across distributed teams.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
  • Solid understanding of data visualisation best practices and principles.
  • A strong perspective on data driven storytelling, able to shape analysis into a clear narrative that drives decisions, not just build charts, combined with excellent dashboard and data visualisation design craft.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross functional team environment.
  • Experience gained in a product organisation or a consulting environment is highly valued.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, transforming and preparing data from large datasets.
  • Knowledge of Azure services and cloud computing principles is desirable.
  • Comfortable using AI tools to accelerate analysis, development and documentation, and genuinely excited to help the team push further with AI.

Join us in our vision to unlock the power of data and drive innovation through seamless data visualization. If you are passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technologies to create impactful analytical solutions, we want to hear from you!
