Job summary

Local Pensions Partnership Administration (LPPA) is hiring an Insights Analyst to turn data into actionable insights across operations and planning. You’ll develop dashboards, MI packs and reports to support performance, resource planning and decision-making.

The role emphasises descriptive and diagnostic analyses to spot trends and root causes, with opportunities to automate reporting and improve processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in analytics, reporting or business intelligence, ideally 3–5 years.
  • Hands-on experience building dashboards and MI packs.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and BI tools, such as Power BI.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to carry out descriptive and diagnostic analysis.
  • Ability to interpret data, spot patterns and communicate meaningful insight.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, MI packs and standard operating procedures.
  • Carrying out routine and ad-hoc analysis, including customer behaviour, root cause, driver and process analysis.
  • Supporting forecasting, performance tracking and variance analysis.
  • Transforming raw data into meaningful insight, with clear recommendations and consideration of risk and reward.
  • Contributing to data quality, governance and the consistent use of analytical standards.
  • Supporting opportunities to automate reporting and improve existing processes.
  • Working with Planning, Operations and other cross-functional teams to understand business questions and provide useful insight

Salary: £36,000 - £40,000, dependent on experience

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

Location: Hybrid working, with 2 days per week in Preston, Lancashire

Remote-working contracts may be considered for candidates living 50+ miles from our Preston office.

What you’ll be doing:

As an Insights Analyst, you’ll play a key role in helping us understand performance, identify opportunities for improvement and support evidence-based decision-making. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, MI packs and standard operating procedures.
  • Carrying out routine and ad-hoc analysis, including customer behaviour, root cause, driver and process analysis.

What we need from you:

We’re looking for someone with experience in analytics, reporting or business intelligence, ideally within an operational or service-led environment. You’ll be confident working with data, building dashboards or MI packs, and using tools such as SQL and Power BI to create insight that helps others make better decisions. You’ll also bring:

  • Experience in analytics, reporting or business intelligence, ideally with 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Hands‑on experience building dashboards, MI packs and maintaining reporting processes.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and BI tools, such as Power BI.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to carry out descriptive and diagnostic analysis.
  • The ability to interpret data, spot patterns and communicate meaningful insight.
  • Curiosity and lateral thinking, with the ability to explore different explanations and approach problems creatively.
  • Confidence working with incomplete or evolving information, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguity.
  • A creative and open mindset, with a willingness to try new analytical approaches and tools.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity for non-technical audiences.
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with Planning, Operations and other cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Nice to have

It would also be helpful if you have:

  • Experience with contact centre platforms, such as Avaya, Verint or NICE.
  • Exposure to Python or R, with an interest in developing your technical capability further.
  • Experience with automation tools or optimisation approaches.
  • Relevant analytics, BI or data qualifications.
  • An understanding of forecasting, variance analysis or resource planning disciplines
