About the role

We have an exciting opportunity within our Distribution Insight function for an Insight Analyst to join a successful team!

As an Insight Analyst, you will be responsible for crafting, designing, and maintaining data pipelines, Excel reports, automation macros, and Tableau reports.

The Distribution Insight team is part of Distribution & Fulfilment and provides insights and reports to distribution teams, including The Big 6, The Weekly Performance Pack, and Safety. We also support Network Planning teams with data management and process streamlining.

This role is based at our Daventry Support Office, Northamptonshire NN6 7GY.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting the development of new reports and processes as operational needs arise
• Enhancing dependencies on TAP and transitioning from standalone SQL Server systems
• Maintaining existing spreadsheets and macros, ensuring changes do not impact current operations
• Providing contingency and backup for departmental systems to prevent data loss and system failure
• Assisting the Network Planning team with data sourcing

Required skills and experience

• Proficiency with sophisticated SQL statements in SQL Server, Hadoop, or Teradata
• Experience creating data visualizations and dashboards in Tableau and Excel VBA, including pivot tables and slicers
• Ability to manipulate data and lead data pipelines
• Knowledge of database structures
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
• Skill in deriving insights and developing visualizations to communicate findings
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement
• Ability to plan and prioritize tasks effectively
• Attention to detail
