  • Location: Ipswich or Dover, United Kingdom - office based
  • Full-time (40 hours)
  • Salary: £38,000-42,000 per annum depending on experience
Your Role

You will be part of a dynamic and growing freight sales team based in our office in Ipswich, Suffolk, responsible for acquiring new business, maximizing revenue opportunities, and building strong relationships with both existing and potential clients. You will play a crucial role in contributing to our commercial growth and developing your sales career within the transport and logistics industry.

Key Responsibilities

As Inside Sales representative you will be responsible for generating new business, managing customer relationships, and collaborating with operational teams to ensure efficient service delivery.

You will:

  • Actively contribute to the company's commercial growth by generating new door-to-door and customs business, meeting sales targets (KPIs), and exploring all potential business opportunities with both new and existing customers.
  • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships, understanding their requirements, exceeding expectations, and resolving issues. Occasional customer visits and thorough sales reporting.
  • Work closely with operational teams, proactively seeking additional loads and understanding the company's operational processes.
  • Identify business opportunities and address fluctuations in load counts through proactive analysis of booking summaries.
  • Maintain the CRM system with up-to-date information on new and existing clients, including all business opportunities.
  • Identify market opportunities and threats.
  • Provide regular updates to the Freight Sales Manager and Customs Team.
Your profile

As Inside Sales Executive, you have significant experience in sales within the transport or logistics industry and possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

You will:

  • Have a minimum 2-3 years of proven sales experience ideally within a transport or logistics operation.
  • Possess a strong understanding of European transport. Experience of working within an operational department for a transport company would be highly desirable.
  • Have excellent customer service and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Be proficient in MS Office Suite, and have accurate data input skills.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Be educated to A-level or equivalent (logistics-related studies are desirable).
  • Possess a logical mindset, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to learn and memorise information.
