About the team

Our Inquiries and Investigations team works on high-profile and complex matters for a diverse range of clients. We provide targeted legal and strategic advice, collaborating across stakeholders while safeguarding the interests of our clients. Our team has supported entities such as the Home Office, Ministry of Defence, Cabinet Office, Department for Health & Social Security, Financial Reporting Council, Ofqual, housing associations, care providers, local authorities, and public bodies. We offer opportunities for varying contract lengths between 6-24 months. Please specify your availability in your application.

About the role

• Supporting Lawyers/Barristers across inquiries, investigations, reviews, and inquisitorial processes.
• Advising on witness statements, drafting statements, and supporting witnesses.
• Analyzing complex information and identifying key documents.
• Leading disclosure and document review, supervising team members as needed.
• Attending hearings to support witnesses.
• Managing workload efficiently within team settings.
• Participating in training and skill development.
• Performing additional duties as delegated by senior staff.

About you

We seek Lawyers/Barristers for 6 to 24 months, full-time (35 hours/week), with experience in Document Review, Investigations, or Inquiries, and holding a valid England & Wales practising certificate. An SC (Security Clearance) is preferred, with confirmation required at application. Gowling WLG values diversity and equal opportunity employment.
