Band 5 looking to progress your career? Are you a Band 6 looking for a new exciting opportunity? We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Band 6 Physiotherapist with a passion for general physical rehabilitation to work within NELFT’s London based In-patient rehab team.

The role will require the successful candidate to work as part of the team based in an inpatient setting but with an interface to other NELFT services and external stakeholders to ensure service delivery is of a high quality and provided in line with national standards.

The post holder will utilise a range of skills and experience gained in clinical practice to perform specialist, comprehensive assessments using clinical reasoning skills and assessment techniques to formulate a treatment plan based on clinical findings.

Excellent communication skills are essential as well asgood knowledge of current Physiotherapy best practice and the ability to work as an effective team member across multi-professional team.

Main duties of the job

The main responsibilities of the post holder are:

1.To work flexibly and assist in effective and efficient delivery of the service.

2.To prioritise workload, delegate and to supervise more junior staff including support staff and students, to aid provision of high standards of patient care.

3.To assess the Physiotherapy needs of a defined patient group and establish and evaluate appropriate treatment plans. This includes chronic, acute and palliative care within own competencies, recognising own limitations and seeking advice when necessary.

4.To monitor, evaluate and modify treatment for patients with multiple pathologies in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of treatment.

5.To select and apply Physiotherapy assessments for a designated caseload, addressing any skill deficits, enabling patients in the areas of productivity, self and leisure.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement

This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,551 to a maximum of £5,735).
