Job summary

Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support service users in inpatient adult mental health, under an occupational therapist, within a patient-centered care programme.

You will engage service users and carers in therapeutic activities, contribute to assessments and interventions, and participate in supervision and MDT collaboration to promote independence and wellbeing. Training opportunities and safeguarding are integral to the role.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Care or equivalent.
• AVCE in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
• Numeracy, Literacy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent).
• Willingness to undertake within agreed timescale.

Responsibilities

• Support service users in self-care, productivity and leisure activities.
• Engage service users and carers in therapeutic programmes of care.
• Participate in clinical supervision and MDT teamwork.
• Use the Trust's electronic patient record system and follow policies.
• Engage in safety and quality improvement activities within OT team.
