Job summary

Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner to support inpatient and ward-based care. You will assist qualified therapists with assessments, plan and deliver interventions, and run group activity sessions.

The role requires flexible working, autonomous task delivery within defined care plans, and effective liaison with carers, families and the MDT to promote patient wellbeing and social participation.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and follow care plans.
• Experience facilitating group activity sessions or therapeutic activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Occupational Therapists with assessments and interventions.
• Plan, design and deliver ward-based and off-ward activities including group sessions.
• Liaise with carers, families and the MDT to gather information and provide feedback.
• Promote health, wellbeing and patient-centred care through therapeutic activities.
