Job summary

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to join the Oaktrees Specialist Eating Disorder Inpatient Unit. The role involves high-quality psychological assessment and therapy for adult inpatients with eating disorders, plus consultation and supervision across the MDT.

The post is primarily ward-based with flexibility for part-time working and training support.

Qualifications

• Experience of conducting complex psychological assessment and intervention.
• Ability to supervise Assistant Psychologists and other staff.
• Experience in multidisciplinary team settings.
• Knowledge of eating disorders and related treatments.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological assessments for adult inpatients with eating disorders.
• Formulate and implement plans for inpatient psychological treatment and management.
• Train and deliver specialist psychological therapies for inpatient groups.
• Deliver individual, family and group therapy for patients with complex problems.
• Provide consultation to professionals and carers and contribute to service development.
• Undertake risk assessment and provide risk management guidance.
