Job summary

Falcon Chase International is seeking an experienced Clinical Coding professional to support inpatient coding operations within a healthcare environment. The role emphasizes accurate ICD-10 and OPCS-4 coding, documentation clarification with clinicians, and participation in audits to ensure coding quality and governance.

You will work with EHR and PAS systems, mentor colleagues, and contribute to productivity targets while upholding high standards of accuracy and compliance across the coding

Qualifications

• Accredited clinical coder with NCCQ/ACC or equivalent.
• Strong ICD-10 and OPCS-4 knowledge.
• Recent Clinical Coding Standards refresher within the last 3 years.
• Hands-on inpatient coding across multiple hospital specialties.
• Good medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
• Experience with EHR, PAS and coding tools.
• Strong attention to detail and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records and assign ICD-10 and OPCS-4 codes across specialties.
• Ensure accurate diagnoses, comorbidities, complications and procedures are coded.
• Clarify diagnoses/procedures with clinicians when needed.
• Conduct coding quality reviews, validations and audits.
• Identify coding errors and gaps to improve accuracy.
• Support productivity, workload management and reporting targets.
• Provide guidance and support to colleagues as needed.
• Maintain coding standards, governance and continuous improvement.
