Job summary

Ellern Mede Barnet in Barnet, England, seeks an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join its inpatient team for young adults (18+) with eating disorders and complex co-morbid presentations. The role includes protocol-based assessments, involvement in care planning with CBT/DBT/PBS principles, and coordination of therapeutic groups within a multidisciplinary setting.

You will work under the supervision of a qualified psychologist and contribute to routine outcome monitoring and service

Qualifications

• Accredited psychology degree (2:1 or above) or approved conversion course with the BPS.
• Eligible for Graduate Membership with the BPS.
• Further postgraduate training in psychology, mental health practice or research design/analysis.
• Record of peer-reviewed publications.

Responsibilities

• Undertake protocol-based psychological assessments including neuropsychological tests and psychometrics.
• Assist in formulation and delivery of care plans involving CBT/DBT/PBS principles.
• Assist in preparation of CPA and other reports under supervision.
• Attend MDT meetings and contribute to progress reports.
• Coordinate and facilitate therapeutic groups and psycho-educational activities.
• Provide professional advice to care, education staff on behaviour management programmes.
• Liaise with specialists involved in cases and assist in clinical work as required.
• Research and gather clinical information as needed.
