As an Associate Director within the Innovation Reliefs Software team, you will work in a growing, specialist tax team at RSM. The role involves working directly with IT specialists in various businesses at the forefront of their technology, while also experiencing a role in a global professional services firm. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Developing claim methodologies and managing the preparation of R&D tax relief claims for submission to HMRC.
  2. Leading interviews with clients’ technical and finance teams to advise on R&D tax relief and to assist with identifying qualifying activities and expenditure.
  3. Writing technical descriptions of clients’ projects for reports.
  4. Identifying and progressing business development opportunities, pitching for work with new and existing clients.
  5. Leading as a point of contact on specific R&D software projects.
  6. Utilising your computer science or developer skills to assist junior team members' development.

What we are looking for:

Are you someone who thrives on variety, loves learning, and enjoys connecting with people? If you can spot inefficiencies and are passionate about improvements, this role is perfect for you!

We value diverse experiences and perspectives. Our ideal candidate will have:

  2. Good knowledge of UK R&D tax incentives.
  3. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  4. Experience in preparing and submitting R&D tax relief claims.
  5. Clear and concise technical writing skills.
  6. Experience responding to HMRC enquiries.

We recognize our people as our most valuable asset. Our flexible reward and benefits package includes:

  • 27 days holiday (plus options to purchase additional days).
  • Hybrid working arrangements.
  • Wellbeing benefits including financial tools, electric car schemes, and virtual GP access.
  • Individual healthcare coverage.
  • Access to over 300 courses on demand, developed by our Talent Development team.
