Innovation Reliefs (Software) Associate Director

Make an Impact within our Innovation Reliefs team at RSM UK

Our National Innovations Relief Team works with a range of companies, from start-ups to multinationals, to assist them in preparing claims for Research & Development tax relief. We collaborate with clients across various sectors, notably manufacturing, engineering, life sciences, software, and digital technologies, to help identify and prepare successful tax relief claims. The variety of projects and our impressive client list will challenge you daily, fostering your professional growth.

As an Associate Director within the Innovation Reliefs Software team, you will be part of a growing, specialist tax team at RSM. Your role involves working directly with IT specialists in diverse businesses at the forefront of technology, while experiencing the environment of a global professional services firm. This position can be based in any of our Central or Scotland region offices, including Birmingham, Nottingham, Leicester, Milton Keynes, Cambridge, Edinburgh, or Glasgow.

You will make an impact by:

• Developing claim methodologies and managing the preparation of R&D tax relief claims for submission to HMRC.
• Leading interviews with clients' technical and finance teams to advise on R&D tax relief and assist in identifying qualifying activities and expenditures.
• Writing technical descriptions of client projects for reports.
• Identifying and progressing business development opportunities, including pitching for new and existing clients.
• Serving as a point of contact on specific R&D software projects.
• Utilizing your computer science or developer skills to mentor junior team members.
