Team and Role Overview

Our National Innovation & Capital Tax Reliefs Team works with a range of companies, from start-ups to multinationals, to assist with R&D tax relief claims across sectors like manufacturing, engineering, life sciences, software, and digital technologies. This role offers variety, challenging projects, and professional growth. The position can be based in any of our Southern region offices (Bristol, Gatwick, Guildford, Reading, or Southampton).

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop claim methodologies and manage the preparation of R&D tax relief claims for submission to HMRC.
2. Lead interviews with clients’ technical and finance teams to advise on R&D tax relief and identify qualifying activities and expenditure.
3. Write technical descriptions of client projects for reports.
4. Identify and develop business opportunities, pitching for work with new and existing clients.

Candidate Profile

We seek individuals who thrive on variety, enjoy learning, and connecting with people. Passion for improvement and diverse experience are valued. The ideal candidate will have:

1. Experience in preparing and submitting R&D tax relief claims across sectors; patent box claims experience is a plus but not essential.
2. Strong UK R&D tax incentives technical knowledge.
3. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
4. Clear, concise writing skills.
5. Experience with SME and RDEC regimes and assessing group sizes.
