Job summary

South Yorkshire Combined Mayoral Authority is hiring a Programme Officer - Innovation at its Sheffield Head Office. The role is permanent and full-time, 37 hours per week, with hybrid working and a salary of £42,840 to £46,142 per year.

You will support delivery of innovation programmes, build relationships with universities, businesses and funders, monitor progress and help ensure projects achieve outcomes that boost regional growth. Interviews will be held in September.

Qualifications

• Experience of managing or supporting projects in a complex environment.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities with monitoring and reporting experience.
• Experience of financial monitoring, procurement or compliance activities.
• Interest in innovation, research commercialisation or economic development with a delivery focus.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day management and delivery of innovation programmes and projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with universities, businesses, research organisations and funders.
• Monitor project performance, maintain programme documentation and manage risks.
• Prepare reports and briefings for senior leaders and governance boards.
• Support funding, financial monitoring, procurement and compliance activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve programme delivery and outcomes.
