Join Hexcel as an Innovation Engineer II as part of our Manufacturing Innovation Team, where you will design, develop, and test cutting edge new equipment to make some of the world’s most high performing materials. Join our growing team as an Innovation Engineer and help us to build Hexcel’s Factories of the Future at our Duxford, UK Location.

The Role

In this role, you will use your knowledge and experience to lead the development of automation solutions for cutting edge manufacturing lines and take them from inception to implementation in a production environment. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will collaborate with colleagues from many parts of the business to make these new technologies a key part of Hexcel’s Factories of the Future. You will have the opportunity to present technical insights and solutions to stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead innovative projects aligned with MIT and wider R&T strategy.
  • Follow procedures and reporting requirements for projects in which you are involved.
  • Regular reporting and communication of results.
  • Contribute to team goals and objectives, EH&S, and 5S activities

Skills and Qualifications

  • Science or Engineering background evidenced by relevant industry experience and/or University qualifications.
  • Evidenced practical/experimental skills, knowledge and experience of process automation, robotics, PLC controls, machine design or related fields.
  • Ability to communicate with suppliers; specify and evaluate suitable equipment to deliver project outcomes.
  • Ability to organise self and others, plan workload effectively and allocate resources as priorities require.
