The Innovation Manager will act as the sole leader in the UK office and will collaborate with legal operations teams, clients, and practice groups to deliver creative solutions to business problems and promote productivity, best practices, innovation, and client service.

The firm is a global powerhouse in the legal industry with over 5,000 users and is looking to expand its presence across Europe and enhance its legal innovation offerings. This position will collaborate with other Innovation leads across the US and Europe, with London serving as a European Hub. Innovation is a priority; the firm is forward-thinking and aims to utilize modern technologies where possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Supports team and firm-wide initiatives and special projects focused on legal technology roll-out, change management, emerging technology assessment (e.g., Gen AI), and other process improvements.
• Manages projects related to innovation, including requirements gathering, communication with attorneys and clients, managing timelines, and overseeing project roll-out.
• Partners with other members of the Innovation and IT teams to identify, evaluate, and implement emerging legal technologies.
• Serves as a subject matter expert for legal technology solutions, providing ongoing support to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Monitors ongoing legal industry practices related to innovation, including trends, emerging technologies, and implementation challenges.

Skills Required

• Previous experience in an innovation management role within a law firm.
• Demonstrated interest and understanding of emerging technologies such as Gen AI, ML, and Automation.
• Ability to translate ideas into product solutions.
• Understanding and application of design thinking to problem-solving.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and other project management, case management, and process mapping tools.
• Capacity to learn and utilize various matter, project, and portfolio management tools.
• Awareness and experience with legal operations and technology tools.

This role offers hybrid working—3 days in the London office.
