Functieomschrijving
We have an opportunity for an individual to join our Ink team. This role is responsible for ensuring high quality of inks are made and maintained, conducting work in a safe and controlled manner according to standards and procedures. You will understand customer colour specifications and ensure they are met to the highest standard.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Operating in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, including BRC, ISO & A2.
2. Preparing inks for production according to data standards and anilox strengths, and managing ink usage for subsequent runs.
3. Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, logging and cleaning spills immediately.
4. Applying lean manufacturing techniques, including SMED and 5S principles.
5. Maximizing press returns before using virgin ink, managing activity via IFS6 to ensure sufficient ink supply, and minimizing top-up requirements.
6. Ensuring a 24-hour ink supply, adjusting for production plan changes.
7. Using eXact spectro, IFS6, and IQC to minimize press downtime.
8. Logging press returns into the system for future use.
9. Assisting printers with minor press adjustments and recipe changes.
10. Maintaining the distillation plant and minimizing waste ink and solvents.
11. Supporting ink deliveries, stock takes, and reordering supplies.
12. Contributing to continuous improvement projects as needed.

Skills, qualifications, and attributes include:

• Forklift license (training provided)
• X-rite equipment training
• Knowledge of print colours
• Understanding of continuous improvement techniques (lean & 5S)
• Experience with quality, health, safety, and environmental standards in production
• Colour matching experience

The role involves 12-hour shifts on a 4-week continental pattern, including days, nights, and weekends, with potential schedule changes. Physical fitness is required due to lifting and bending tasks.
