Job Description

A leading manufacturer of plastic products with a stable and steadily expanding order book is currently seeking a Plastic Injection Moulding Process Engineer to join their team.

Working within a state-of-the-art facility, this role will be responsible for improving processes, generating cost and time savings, tool trialling (NPI) and resolving the more challenging process/production issues.

***Up to £40,000, days Monday - Friday***

As an Injection Moulding Process Engineer your duties will include:

  1. Running tool trials for new product lines.
  2. Identifying areas for improvement and implementing process optimisation.
  3. Trialling of new materials/grades.
  4. Working with management, setters, material suppliers, toolroom, maintenance, and machinery suppliers to find the root cause of processing issues.
  5. Liaising with the toolroom on modifications or repairs to existing tooling.

To be successful in the role of Process Engineer, the ideal candidate will:

  1. Possess a thorough understanding of plastic injection moulding, covering processing, materials, tooling, machinery, and problem solving.
  2. Hold formal plastic injection moulding training or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge following a scientific moulding process.
  3. Have demonstrable experience of process optimisation and troubleshooting.
  4. Have a solid knowledge of a range of polymers and their characteristics.
