Job summary

Protolabs in the United Kingdom is hiring multiple IM Setter Operatives to support the injection moulding process. You will set up presses, load materials, operate the overhead crane, and ensure parts meet quality specifications while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

This permanent role offers 37.5 hours per week, onsite parking, career growth, and a benefits package including life insurance and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to operate material handling equipment.
• Able to work safely with sharp and heavy objects (e.g. knives, aluminium blocks).
• Physical job requirements: reaching, bending, and grasping.
• Literate and numerate.
• Worked in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Must be punctual and have good attendance.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills at all levels.
• Strong attention to detail and urgency.
• Maintaining personal standards.
• Reliable and trustworthy.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve prepared aluminium moulds and install into injection moulding press.
• Operate overhead crane and A frame.
• Secure mould in machine and associate ancillary equipment.
• Load material into the machine hopper.
• Set up machine operating parameters from established setting sheets.
• Inspect parts for accuracy.
• Record process changes specifications onto setting sheets.
• Remove moulds from the press and stage for disassembly.
• Purge barrel of leftover materials at the end of an order.
• Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department.
• Maintain clean and organised work area with emphasis on safety, quality, efficiency, and utilisation.
• Continually seek to improve work processes and individual performance.
• Adhere to all company policies and operational procedures.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
• Work towards company KPIs.
• Familiar with the many types of resins used in thermoplastic injection moulding.
• Able to be licensed to operate material handling equipment.
