Job description

We’re looking for an inhouse Legal Counsel with 3 to 5 years PQE. You’ll have a strong track record in commercial contract and technology related laws and regulations. You’ll provide support to the Senior Legal Counsel and the wider business on relevant commercial legal matters, contractual management, policy development and legal research. Location: London Waterloo, hybrid working applies with 3 days in the office.

About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, you’ll provide legal support across HR, Operations, Marketing, Sales and Advertising departments. This includes drafting and negotiating commercial legal documents including NDA’s and supplier and procurement agreements. You’ll undertake general contract management, updating our contracts database, managing progression and reviews from negotiations to signature and ongoing tracking. You’ll undertake regular legal research to ensure full compliance with any changes around commercial and technology related law. You’ll handle routine legal assignments independently and generally contribute to the enhancement of knowledge bae of the company’s inhouse legal function.

What are we looking for?

  • You’ll have a minimum 3-5 years PQE with experience in commercial contract law with a proven track record of drafting, negotiating, and advising on a wide range of commercial agreements, including service agreements, NDAs, licensing, and procurement contracts.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and managing internal legal and compliance policies, including risk assessments, contract management frameworks, and regulatory compliance processes.
  • A good working understanding of GDPR & privacy including advising on data processing agreements, privacy policies and cross-border data transfers.
  • A working understanding of Intellectual Property rights, including advising on IP ownership, licensing, and protection strategies in commercial context.
  • Regulatory awareness of broader regulatory frameworks affecting the tech industry, such as ecommerce regulations, consumer protection laws, and cybersecurity standards, is a plus.
  • Experience within the technology and/or ecommerce sector is highly beneficial.
