Overview

Childcare Advocate – London Local Authority (Locum Contract). Hybrid working arrangement. Sellick Partnership is looking for a Childcare Lawyer, Solicitor or Barrister for an in-house advocacy role within an experienced and supportive team.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial hearings, case management hearings, contested initial hearings, and final hearings.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with the Court.
  • Attend Council offices in South London as required; court hearings conducted mainly in person.
  • Join a well-established team that provides supportive leadership and guidance.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Childcare Solicitor or Barrister with public childcare experience and in-house advocacy capabilities.
  • Previous advocacy experience or experience as a barrister is highly desirable.
  • Experience working for a local authority is highly desirable, but applications from Childcare Lawyers in private practice or Barristers with substantial public childcare court matters are also welcome.
  • Ability to handle substantial public childcare matters in Court.
Contract & Location
  • Locum contract with hybrid working arrangement.
  • Hybrid working arrangement with some attendance at the Council offices in South London; court hearings in person.
