Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse at Metro Infusion Center

Metro Infusion Center, affiliated with Metro Infectious Disease Consultants, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to supervise and administer infusion therapy at our Birmingham, AL location.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Key Responsibilities

• Place peripheral lines, including PICC lines, for new patients and teach infusion patients self-administration of medications. Document all procedures in the Medical Record.
• Review and chart daily lab results, communicating findings to physicians and patients as needed.
• Prescribe medications via e-prescribing based on doctor’s orders and coordinate with pharmacies.
• Manage patient and other calls, providing timely responses.
• Review EMR charts for upcoming appointments, order lab results, consult reports, and ensure documentation meets meaningful use standards.
• Respond to telephone inquiries, meet with patients in the office, and schedule appointments.
• Participate in quality assurance and educational activities.
• Use clinical judgment to evaluate patient needs and prioritize care activities.
• Monitor the safety and functionality of the environment and equipment.
• Maintain good interpersonal communication within the facility.
• Adhere to professional standards, including Nursing Practice, JCAHO, state and local laws, and MIDC policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school
• Current Alabama RN license
• Minimum of two years of RN office practice experience, preferably in infusion therapy
• Infusion experience required
• Chemo experience is preferred but not mandatory
• Proof of current vaccinations, including boosters for immunocompromised patients (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, COVID-19). Accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
