Searchability NS&D in Cheltenham is seeking an Infrastructure Test Engineer with active UK eDV clearance to work on mission-critical national security programmes. This on-site role offers exposure to secure infrastructure and a chance to shape testing across Windows and Linux environments.

You will design and execute test strategies, automate where possible, and collaborate with infrastructure, networking and platform engineering teams to ensure systems perform reliably and securely in live

Competenze

• Active UK eDV Clearance.
• Experience testing enterprise IT infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of Windows and/or Linux Server environments.
• Knowledge of networking technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and Firewalls.
• Experience writing and executing test plans, test cases and test reports.
• Understanding of defect management and test lifecycle processes.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Experience working within secure or highly regulated environments.

• Permanent opportunity for an Infrastructure Test Engineer
• On-site role in Cheltenham
• Salary up to £70,000 (DOE)

WHO ARE WE?

We are supporting a highly respected organisation delivering some of the UK's most sensitive National Security programmes. Due to continued project growth, we are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Test Engineer to join a specialist team responsible for validating secure infrastructure within complex, high-assurance environments.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring critical infrastructure performs reliably, securely and to the highest possible standards.

WHAT WILL THE INFRASTRUCTURE TEST ENGINEER BE DOING?

You will be responsible for testing, validating and assuring enterprise infrastructure across a range of secure platforms. Working alongside infrastructure, networking and platform engineering teams, you'll develop and execute test strategies, identify defects, and ensure systems are ready for deployment into live operational environments.

The role will involve functional, integration and system testing across infrastructure components, with a strong focus on automation, performance and security assurance.

WE NEED THE INFRASTRUCTURE TEST ENGINEER TO HAVE .

• Active UK eDV Clearance
• Experience testing enterprise IT infrastructure
• Strong understanding of Windows and/or Linux Server environments
• Knowledge of networking technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and Firewalls
• Experience writing and executing test plans, test cases and test reports
• Understanding of defect management and test lifecycle processes

IT WOULD BE NICE FOR THE INFRASTRUCTURE TEST ENGINEER TO HAVE .

• Experience with VMware, Hyper-V or virtualised environments
• Knowledge of PowerShell, Bash or Python scripting
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated infrastructure testing
• ISTQB Foundation or equivalent testing certification
• Previous experience supporting National Security or Defence programmes
