Job description

We're looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing team.

This role involves providing expert-level support to resolve complex customer issues and proactively maintain IT infrastructure. You'll work closely with our Head of Technology to ensure our customers' systems are robust, reliable, and fit for purpose. What You'll Be Doing
Problem Resolution & Support
  • Act as a Tier 3-4 escalation point for the Service Desk, diagnosing and resolving complex IT issues.
  • Identify root causes of recurring problems and implement robust, long-term fixes.
  • Improve design, implementation, and maintenance of client infrastructures, including cloud, servers, networks, and storage.
  • Manage system backups, disaster recovery plans, and documentation of configurations.
  • Work with vendors and assist in technology contract negotiations.
Customer Service & Operations
  • Ensure customers receive exceptional service and are fully satisfied with outcomes.
  • Monitor, manage, and enhance cloud platforms, ensuring performance, availability, and reliability meet contractual levels.
  • Implement system management tools and processes to drive efficiency and automation.
Personal & Team Development
  • Stay current with industry trends and technologies, achieving relevant certifications.
  • Mentor and coach team members to enhance technical skills.
Qualifications (preferred but not essential):
  • Degree in a relevant subject plus MCP Server or Enterprise Administrator qualification.
  • MCSA or MCSE (Server).
  • Azure, Office 365, and Windows 10/11 certifications.
Experience:
  • 3+ years in IT support, including at least 1 year with a service provider.
  • Managing servers for organizations of 50+ users.
  • ITIL environment experience.
  • Azure, VMware & vSphere (creating/implementing virtual servers).
  • Networking experience with FortiGate or Cisco devices.
  • Layer 3 networking and subnet routing.
  • Microsoft Exchange 2016-2019 or Office 365 (migration/installation).
Skills & Qualities:
  • Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • ITIL 4 Certified.
  • Recent Microsoft (Office 365 and Azure), VMWARE or other professional certifications.
  • Proven leadership and change management experience.
