Careers at TCS: It means more
TCS is a purpose-led transformation company, built on belief. We do not just help businesses to transform through technology. We support them in making a meaningful difference to the people and communities they serve - our clients include some of the biggest brands in the UK and worldwide. For you, it means more to make an impact that matters, through challenging projects which demand ambitious innovation and thought leadership.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Infrastructure Architect to support a large-scale transformation programme by defining the target-state cloud architecture, landing zone, security model, network topology, environment strategy, and infrastructure readiness for Oracle workloads.
The architect will work closely with enterprise architects, security teams, application owners, infrastructure teams, and programme stakeholders to design a secure, scalable, resilient, and governance-aligned OCI foundation for enterprise applications, integrations, analytics, and platform services.
This role is focused on the pre-implementation phase only, including assessment, architecture design, sizing strategy, environment planning, security and network blueprinting, migration readiness planning, DR strategy definition, and governance alignment before execution begins.
Experience designing cloud platforms compliant with NHS DSPT, Cyber Essentials, UK GDPR, NCSC guidance and public sector security standards.
Your responsibilities:
Define the target-state OCI architecture for the transformation programme, including compute, storage, networking, identity, security, and platform services.
- Conduct current-state assessment and fitment analysis for existing infrastructure, hosting landscape, dependencies, and cloud readiness.
- Prepare and own High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design inputs, architecture principles, and infrastructure blueprints.
- Designing the OCI landing zone includes tenancy structure, compartments, tagging strategy, policies, guardrails, and governance controls.
- Define network architecture including VCN design, subnets, DRG, Fast Connect/VPN, routing, segmentation, DNS, and connectivity with on-prem / third-party environments.
- Establish security architecture including IAM model, federation/SSO approach, key management, secret handling, bastion strategy, logging, monitoring, and security baselines.
- Define environment strategy for non-production and production landscapes, capacity planning, HA/DR architecture, backup approach, and resilience requirements.
- Collaborate with application, database, middleware, integration, and security teams to ensure OCI design supports business and technical requirements.
- Experience designing hybrid OCI infrastructure architectures, identity federation, network integration, and cross-cloud security controls.
- Define a secure, governance-aligned OCI platform capable of supporting Oracle Fusion, OIC/OICS, API-led integration, hybrid cloud connectivity, EDI integration, NHS security and compliance requirements, and enterprise-scale operational resilience.
- Define migration readiness strategies including workload classification, dependency mapping, sizing assumptions, deployment approach, and transition prerequisites.
- Support architecture governance by tracking risks, assumptions, dependencies, standards, and design decisions for programme milestones and stakeholder approvals.
Your Profile
Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- 12+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, cloud architecture, or enterprise platform design
- Strong firsthand expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) architecture and foundational services
- Deep knowledge of OCI networking, IAM, security, compute, storage, backup, monitoring, and resilience design
- Proven experience in enterprise cloud transformation programs, landing zone design, and platform standardization
- Strong understanding of hybrid cloud architecture, on-premises connectivity, segmentation, and secure enterprise integration patterns
- Experience in defining OCI tenancy, compartments, policies, tags, quotas, and governance frameworks.
- Expertise in HA/DR planning, environment strategy, performance sizing, and non-functional architecture requirements
- Familiarity with databases, middleware, ERP, integration, and application hosting requirements on OCI
- Exposure to migration assessment, workload discovery, dependency analysis, and cloud readiness planning
- Strong stakeholder management, architecture governance, workshop facilitation, and documentation skills
- Experience defining Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OCI Resource Manager), landing-zone automation, policy-as-code, CI/CD integration, and cloud platform deployment standards.
- Experience defining observability architecture, logging, monitoring, SIEM integration, operational readiness, and supporting operating models.
- Experience presenting designs to Architecture Review Boards, Technical Design Authorities, and governance forums.
- Experience designing OCI infrastructure supporting Oracle Fusion, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC/OICS), middleware, EDI integration APIs, and hybrid enterprise integrations.
- Experience designing cloud platforms aligned with enterprise security standards, regulatory requirements, data protection controls, and security architecture best practices.
- Excellent Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to architect complex solutions and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Professional certification or equivalent OCI certifications.
- TOGAF, CISSP, CCSP, Azure Architect, or other relevant architecture/security certifications.
- Experience with migration assessments, application rationalisation, cloud adoption frameworks, and workload modernisation initiatives.
