Job summary

Dentro Talent Ltd. is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer for a 6-month contract (Outside IR35) to support a UK-based client. The role focuses on security-centric core infrastructure across MS Server, on-prem, and Azure environments.

You will lead Back Up and Recovery improvements, define firewall standards, and prepare AD readiness, including Domain Controllers, DNS and replication. Strong troubleshooting and hands-on MS Defender Firewall experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in MS Server administration and engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services (Domain Controllers, DNS, replication).
• Experience with AD upgrades and Defender Firewall configuration.
• Proven ability to test backups and disaster recovery procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Back Up and Recovery testing and improve recovery procedures.
• Review and standardise server firewall configurations and implement a phased plan.
• Assess AD forest/domain config, uplift where needed, and validate changes.

Contract - 6 Months - Outside IR35 - Remote Working - UK Only - Infrastructure Engineer - On Prem - Cloud - Back Up and Recovery - Firewalls - AD - Defender - Rate £400-450 per day

We're looking for a strong Infrastructure Engineer with a very keen eye on Security to support a customer in delivering 3 main workstreams on a major cyber resilience programme. You'll need to be a strong engineer with strong fundamentals in windows servers and on-prem environments, as well as Azure.

The 3 key workstreams span Back Up and Recovery, Server Firewall Implementation and AD Preparation.

Back Up and Recovery - You will review their current set up and capability in recovery and take practical steps to improve their recovery testing process. You will carry out rocvery testing to confirm improvements and the changes made and create the new operating procedure.

Server Firewall - Review current state identifying unsuitable or not fiot for purpose configuration. Set out and define the standards across firewalls and scope out a phased plan of improvements.

AD Functional Prep - Assess AD forest and domain config, including Domain Controllers and levels. Investigate applications or issues which may prevent an uplift and recommend remediation. Carry out the uplift and assess and validate the uplift.

This is a highly technical role across Security and core infrastructure, you will need extensive experience across MS Server admin and engineering, Active Directory Domain Services (Domain Controllers, Replication, DNS), AD Upgrades, configuration of MS Defender Firewall or similar and experience in back up and recovery testing.
