Job summary

Expanded Structures, the specialist division of Laing O’Rourke for reinforced concrete basements and substructures, is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join the team in East Suffolk. The role supports commercial activities across work packages for major infrastructure programmes including National Grid projects.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying (RICS desirable) and experience with NEC contracts, direct delivery environments, and a strong focus on cost control

Qualifications

• Degree (or higher) in Quantity Surveying.
• Experience with NEC contracts.
• Experience in direct delivery, construction, civil engineering or infrastructure contexts.

Responsibilities

• Support quantity surveying and commercial activities across allocated work packages.
• Assist measurement, valuation and agreement of works.
• Prepare and manage interim applications and payment certificates.
• Assist with drafting, managing and closing subcontracts.
• Support monthly cost reporting and commercial forecasting.
• Assist with claims, final accounts and commercial negotiations.
• Identify, price and manage change control.
• Support project teams with contractual obligations and commercial risks.
