We are recruiting for an Infrastructure Platform Engineer (On-Prem) Consultant for a permanent, on-site role.

Requirements

• Specialized in on-premise management of platforms, applications, data, and infrastructure as a system administrator.
• Developing automation for continuous delivery using on-prem technologies.
• Configuring infrastructure as a service to automate creation of environments.
• Building and setting up development tools and infrastructure.
• Understanding stakeholder needs and communicating effectively with developers.
• Automating and improving development and release processes.
• Testing and analyzing code written by others.
• Ensuring system security against cyber threats, familiar with NCSC principles.
• Managing security aspects like secrets, tokens, certificates.
• Collaborating with Architects, Data, and Software Engineers to ensure proper development processes.
• Planning projects and participating in project management decisions.
• Designing, securing, and maintaining on-prem infrastructure.
• Making informed decisions and resolving technical disputes.
• Communicating complex technical info clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Exposing system data via APIs, linking systems, delivering streaming services.
• Documenting deployment risks.

Ideal Candidates will demonstrate:

• Experience working with cybersecurity teams is beneficial.
• Design experience for on-prem environments, including migrations.
• Knowledge of various technologies and innovative approaches.
• Experience with change/release management and governance.
• Proficiency with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), provisioning tools (Ansible, Terraform), and performance monitoring.
• Experience with testing, automated deployment, and deployment pipelines.
• Understanding of government digital standards (Discovery/Alpha/Beta/Live).
• Knowledge of SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and their implications.
• Ability to train and support staff.
• Experience with system support, incident management, and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience with Terraform, automation tools, monitoring, SAST/DAST tools, and on-prem DevOps tooling.

This role requires or is willing to undergo Security Clearance, including a Baseline Personnel Security Standard check.
