You will carry out maintenance and repair to the estates Building Fabric and associated assets, delivering high-quality, customer-focused services across the University estate.

The role offers a generous salary scale (£27,757–£29,215 per annum, London Weighting) with progression potential to £29,827.

Qualifications

• Maintenance of building fabric and associated assets.
• Basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical knowledge is beneficial.

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across the University estate.

The Directorate of Estates and Facilities is responsible for the management of all Brunel's physical estate and provides a co-ordinated approach to developing, maintaining and adapting Brunel’s spaces to create an environment which supports the University mission. The Directorate of Estates and Facilities is recruiting for an Infrastructure Operative to join the Operational maintenance team. As an Infrastructure Operative, you will carry out maintenance and repair to the estates Building Fabric and associated assets.

• Salary: Grade from: £27,757 to £29,215 per annum inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £29,827 per annum inclusive of London Weighting through sustained exceptional contribution. (Pro-rata for Part-time)

Main Accountabilities

As part of the Infrastructure Operatives team, you will provide a high-quality, professional and customer-focused maintenance service across the University estate. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, supporting a variety of trades and working closely with colleagues, Infrastructure Technicians and Infrastructure Delivery Managers.

• Painting and decorating
• Tiling and plastering
• Reactive maintenance repairs to building fabric
• Maintenance to the Universities Residential, Academic and Research facilities
• Inspection and maintenance of fire doors
• Assisting non-skilled and skilled trades staff (when necessary)
